Istanbul University holds a significant position not only in scientific achievements but also in the field of sports. Through the efforts carried out under the Directorate of Health, Culture, and Sports, our aim is to instill the habit of engaging in sports among our students and contribute to the development of talented athletes.

Our university participates in inter-university competitions organized by the Turkish University Sports Federation in 54 different disciplines. At the beginning of each academic year, we organize tryouts to form our teams by accepting applications from students who wish to join these disciplines. Students who succeed in these tryouts earn the right to join our university’s sports teams, receive professional training in their fields, and prepare for competitions.

Our teams successfully represent our university in the competitions organized by the federation, bringing recognition to Istanbul University in the field of sports. Once the teams are formed, an intensive training process begins under the guidance of our university’s expert trainers and coaches, ensuring that each athlete is thoroughly prepared for the competitions.

Our goal is not merely to participate in competitions but also to represent Istanbul University in the best possible way and showcase a sporting career filled with achievements. As Istanbul University, we continue to support the development of our students in the field of sports. In every competition we attend, we achieve significant success with discipline, teamwork, and the camaraderie fostered by sports. Under the umbrella of the Directorate of Health, Culture, and Sports, one of our greatest aims is to nurture the successful athletes of the future and represent our university with distinction on national and international platforms.
