The Sports Tournaments Trophy Ceremony Held with Great Enthusiasm
The sports tournaments organized by the Istanbul University Directorate of Health, Culture, and Sports concluded with final matches and a trophy ceremony. This meaningful event, which brought the Istanbul University family together through the unifying power of sports, was completed with great excitement and joy.
Record Participation and Success Stories
This year, a total of 375 staff members participated in the tournaments, achieving remarkable success. The events included competitions in mini-football, 3x3 basketball, table tennis, and chess.
The mini-football tournament featured 21 teams and 257 staff members. After fiercely contested matches, the championship trophy was claimed by the Faculty of Medicine Protection and Security Team.
In the 3x3 basketball tournament, 6 teams and 24 staff members competed. The exciting games concluded with the championship going to the Faculty of Literature Team.
The table tennis tournament saw 52 staff members showcasing their talents in a spirited competition. Erkan Baltacı won the men's championship, while Müzeyyen Ulu claimed the women's title.
The chess tournament provided a stage for strategy and intellect, with 42 participants competing. Emrah Önder emerged as the champion, capping off his success in the tournament.
The Unifying Power of Sports
During the ceremony, Istanbul University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Yahya Güldiken emphasized that sports not only offer physical benefits but also strengthen bonds of friendship and solidarity.
Istanbul University Acting Director of Health, Culture, and Sports Harun Fırtına expressed gratitude to all staff who contributed to the tournaments and highlighted the importance of sports in university culture.
Appreciation and Celebration
The trophy and medals were presented to the winning teams and individual champions by Istanbul University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Yahya Güldiken. All participants were appreciated for their contributions to the organization, and the event concluded with a sense of unity and celebration.
